Balanced Man Scholarship

Dear Scholarship Applicant,

Congratulations on your acceptance into the Florida Gulf Coast University! Your acceptance in itself is a reflection of your commitment to both academic and extracurricular excellence, something the Florida Omicron Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon believes in rewarding.

The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity created the Balanced Man Scholarship in an attempt to reward young men who lead well-rounded, balanced lives. Sigma Phi Epsilon believes in the development and cultivation of a sound mind, a sound body, and a sound spirit. Modern college men must lead healthy lifestyles, academically, physically, and socially, to meet the ever increasing demands placed upon them once they complete their collegiate career. Sigma Phi Epsilon strives to prepare students for the rigors of the “real world.” This scholarship will be awarded to those who have best embodied the concept of a Balanced Man to date.

The application to the Balanced Man Scholarship is open to all incoming male freshmen admitted to Florida Gulf Coast University for the 2013-2014 school year.  While the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity sponsors the scholarship, being awarded the scholarship in no way obligates a student to join the fraternity.  The top candidates will receive $1300 in scholarship respectively. You will be notified no later than August 1, 2013.

If you qualify as a finalist, you and your family will be invited to the scholarship presentation on Saturday, August 17th, 2013, at 5:00PM in FGCU Edwards Hall, Room 112. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jason Hoop (239) 826-0027 or at Jahoop8568@eagle.fgcu.edu. Also, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FGCUSigEp Thanks Again!
